Learn how to use Timestamped
Settings
The Settings page gives you centralized control over your personal preferences, notifications, privacy, and account security. Access it from the main navigation or by clicking your avatar.
On desktop, a sidebar lets you jump between sections. On mobile, each section is an accordion panel. Changes auto-save as you make them.
Appearance
- Theme: Choose light, dark, or system mode. Your choice syncs across devices.
- Timezone: Set your preferred timezone, displayed as city names (for example, "New York (Eastern)"). This controls when email digests are delivered and how times appear throughout the app. Your timezone is auto-detected on signup but can be changed at any time.
Notification Preferences
Fine-tune what notifications you receive and how they are delivered. See the Notifications help page for details on notification types and importance levels.
- AM Digest: Enable or disable the morning briefing email and set the delivery time.
- PM Recap: Enable or disable the evening summary email and set the delivery time.
- Immediate Alerts: Choose which events trigger instant emails (case assignments, budget thresholds, deadlines).
- Task Reminders: Toggle notifications for tasks due within 24 hours and overdue tasks.
- Security Alerts: Get notified about new device logins, password changes, and MFA enrollment.
- Budget Thresholds: Customize the percentage levels at which you receive case budget alerts (default: 50%, 75%, 90%, 100%). You can set up to 10 custom thresholds.
Privacy and Security
Network Privacy
- Show on platform: Controls whether other users can find you when they check if your email is on Timestamped. Turn this off to hide from platform-wide discovery.
- Allow message requests: Controls whether non-mutual contacts can send you message requests. When disabled, only mutual contacts can message you.
Dashboard Privacy
- Hide personal tasks on homepage: When enabled, your personal tasks and their reminder notifications are hidden from the dashboard.
Two-Factor Authentication (MFA)
Protect your account by enrolling in TOTP-based two-factor authentication. You will need an authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy, 1Password, or similar). After scanning the QR code and entering a verification code, your account requires a second factor at every login unless you are on a trusted device.
Trusted Devices
When you log in with MFA, you can mark the device as trusted. Trusted devices bypass the MFA challenge for 30 days. You can have up to 3 trusted devices at a time. Remove any device from this list to require MFA on the next login from that device.
Security Activity
Review recent security events for your account: new device logins, password changes, and MFA enrollment. Use this to verify that no unauthorized access has occurred.
Account Management
- Leave Organization: Non-owners can leave their current organization. Owners must transfer ownership first (see Admin settings). After leaving, you are redirected to the organization selection page.
- Delete Account: Request permanent account deletion. You will receive an email confirmation, and there is a 30-day grace period during which you can cancel the request. After 30 days, your account is permanently deleted.
Platform Users
If you are not currently a member of any organization, you still have access to Settings for managing your personal preferences, privacy, and account. Organization-related options (like "Leave Organization") are hidden until you join one.
